#WEEK 1: Bootcamp

Playing boardgames or telling childhood stories are definitely not activities we normally expect at any university course. But this is not just another course, this is a whole new experience.

Each of us has arrived to our first class with different expectations, backgrounds, and even languages. Most of us are perfect strangers, with one thing in common:

We want to share this adventure called LAPASSION, and make it unforgettable. And although we are still not a hundred percent sure of what this entails, we know we are ready to give our best.

We've already stumbled upon one of the core topics we dealt with this week: expectations and pre-conceived ideas, how this shape us and affect our perception especially on an unconscious level, especially when facing something new or unknown. Only getting to know each other and starting to immerse ourselves in the topic we will be able to overcome these pre-conceived ideas, and start to seize the experience. That's why this week is so important.

We are eager to start working hands-on on the project, but the bootcamp is also about reflecting on how we relate to each other and how we work on teams, on how we are wired biologically and how we can use it to our advantage, and on what's important for a team to work properly.

And obviously, we did all this while having a blast. We've got along real quick!

Even when sometimes one can fail to see the importance of playing a collaborative video-game, or talking about hormones or prejudice or leadership, we believe it is only with hindsight that we will realize how valuable this week was for our future team-work.

You just can't connect the dots looking forward.
